                           Trio Miniature Aussies
The name Trio comes from 3 generations of the breeding/showing of dogs. My grandmother raised and showed Collies for many years (Colleworth Kennels).  Her daughter, my mother, also raised and showed Collies and added Shelties to the kennel (Pride n' Joy).

I enjoyed showing my mother's dogs in Confirmation, Junior Showmanship and Obedience classes.
I love teaching Junior Showmanship as well as judging Junior Showmanship at Fun Matches.

Sharon:  age 17 with Heather Blue  Best Junior Handler in Show

As an adult, I bred and showed Shelties.  With 122 dogs in the ring, taking fourth place at the 1990 Denver, CO Sheltie National with a Bi Black Sheltie of my own breeding was an awsome experience.
After rescuing a small Australian Shepherd from a pound I fell in love with the breed. The Aussies'  intellegence, loyalty and beauty stole my heart. I spent a year studying the Mini Aussies and after attending an ARBA show and receiving a warm welcome from the Mini Aussie community I felt like I had come home.
As a member of The North American Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of the USA (NAMASCUSA)         I strive to promote the breed to the highest standard.

RIP:  Trio's five-0-one's  call name Levi   Sept '93 - Jan '08

Levi, a 65 lb. Australian Shepherd we bought as an 8 wk. old pup, devoted his life to protecting his family until he left us at age 14 to protect us from above. His devotion was a great comfort to Steve as he traveled a lot for work.
Levi loved camping and 4WD in our Colorado mountains!  As soon as he figured out that we were packing for a camping trip or outing, he wouldn't return to the house.  He'd sit outside the vehicles with the look on his face "how soon are we leaving".

Summer is our VERY patient cat we rescued 12 yrs ago. She even teases the dogs into chasing her now and again. She often pushes her way through a sea of dog legs to get her turn at being patted.
